Partial Eclipse (Czech: Neúplné zatmení) is a 1982 Czech drama film directed by Jaromil Jires. It was entered into the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival. The film was also selected as the Czechoslovak entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 56th Academy Awards. Storyline: After being blinded by an accident, a fourteen year old heroine must learn how to deal with the sudden life changes while in an institution for children with bad eyesight. The artist for this poster is Mieczyslaw Wasilewski (b. 1942). From 1960-66, Wasilewski studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and graduated from poster master Henryk Tomaszewski’s class. Since 1971 he has taught at the Warsaw Academy’s Department of Graphic Art. Some of the awards he has won during his illustrious career are the Gold Medal, 6th International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 1976, Silver Medal, Polish Poster Biennale, Katowice 1989, Silver Medal, 14th International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 1994 and the Silver Medal at the 1st International Theater Poster Triennial, Sofia 1995.
