Elegy/Elegia/Elegiya, directed by Eduard Zahariev, is a film about the collision between father and son. The cynicism and ruined moral values of the son crush the patriarchal world of the father. Two generations live together in a decent Bulgarian family. The elderly are pensioners; the young couple manages it somehow. The father is an advocate of stable family values and the son is unfaithful to his wife. During one of the son´s exploits, a boy gets killed. Disgusted at the spiritual meanness and cynicism of his kin, the father decides to live all by himself. The poster artist Włodzimierz Terechowicz (1933-2021) was a Polish painter, graphic artist, poster artist, designer of postage stamps and a teacher. He was a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he studied painting and drawing under the supervision of Wojciech Fangor and poster art in the studio of Henryk Tomaszewski. Later he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Graphics and Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he also taught graphic design. He created mainly film posters, but he also created covers for albums, DVDs, and illustrations and graphic designs for books. He founded and for many years ran his own graphic company in Warsaw, “Ink Art Studio”. His paintings and posters were presented at numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Finland and Slovakia. The artist’s works can be found in gallery and private collections in the USA, France, Japan, and other countries.
