Director David Lean´s classic 1957 film, “The Bridge Over The River Kwai” is a story set in World War II, when British POWs are forced by their Japanese captors to build a railway bridge in Burma. Led by the resolute Colonel Nicholson, they construct the bridge with pride, unaware it’s a key target for Allied sabotage. The story culminates in a tense confrontation, highlighting the futility of war and the clash between duty and conscience.
