Movie synopsis: African student Omar would like to return home to Angola, but he is enrolled in a three-year postgraduate research fellowship at a clinic in Prague. One day while seeing off a friend at the airport, he and a girl named Mariama are brought together by chance as he offers to accompany her in an unfamiliar city toward the International Student Club, where she plays bass in a jazz orchestra. The Greek director Giorgos Skalenakis was born in 1926 in Port Said, Egypt. He was a director and actor, known for Epiheirisis Apollon (1968), Diplopennies (1966) and Vyzantini Rapsodia (1968). He died in 2014 in Athens, Greece. Poster artist Bronislaw Zelek was born in 1935. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Henryk Tomaszewski in 1961, and was known for his original and captivating posters. In 1967, he received Tadeusz Trepkowski‘s prestigious WAG Award and from the 1970s he worked as his former tutor Hernyk Tomaszewski’s assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1971 up until his death in 2018, he lived and worked in Vienna. He created over 100 posters. Other awards he received were First Prize, Chopin Poster Competition (1967), Gold Medal at 3rd Poster Biennale, Katowice (1969), and First Prize, International Mecanorma Font Competition, Paris (1974). His unique style was shaped by historical events, during a time period when Western designs were mocked and avoided, and Polish artists were greatly respected for creating their own alternative style.
