100th Anniversary of Polish Poster Art | 100 Years Polish Poster Art

This work is by the painter and sculptor Wojciech Siudmak. Siudmak was born in 1941. In 1956–1961, he attended the Secondary Art School in Warsaw, and then he pursued education at the University of Fine Arts. He went to Paris in 1966, where he studied at École des Beaux-Arts. He lives and creates in France. He is considered a leading representative of fantastic realism. Combining surreal vision with naturalistic art, this trend has its roots in surrealism as represented by Dali, Magritte or de Chirico; in fact, he is often compared to Dali. George Lucas said about him: “Wojtek Siudmak’s fine draftsmanship and sense of light and dark give his visions great depth and multiply the remarkable range of colours and textures. There is a powerful tranquillity in Wojtek Siudmak’s creations, and endless space to explore and invent.”
