Tango is a drama written by Polish writer, dramatist and cartoonist Sławomir Mrożek (1930–2013). It was first published in the literary magazine Dialog (Dialogue) in 1964. In Poland, Tango was staged for the first time in Bydgoszcz in 1965. The drama has been translated into English, and over a dozen other languages. The poster artist Wojciech Wolynski was born and educated in Poland. He studied at the Poznan Secondary School of Visual Art, The Higher School of Visual Art, and the Lodz Film School. He was a student of professors Tadeusz Brzozowski, Waldemar Swierzy, and Tadeusz Jackowski. He began his career in theatre and film, designing sets, costumes, posters and later worked as an illustrator for printed media. Searching for a new beginning in 1983 he moved to New England. As an illustrator he worked for the New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly, The Boston Globe, Time Magazine, and numerous other clients. He continues to work for publishers in Poland. Wolynski’s work has been exhibited in Poland, Scandinavia, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Hong Kong, Japan and the USA. In 1990’s he began teaching in schools of art, and is currently professor of Illustration at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
